Our Turf Laboratory facility works with an aggregate supplier to continually assess and recommend a wide number of sand and gravel materials that are suitable for production and supply to the wider turf and recreational industry.
We are currently installing a live trial of our SSRS on our research facility platform. This has involved creating an exact replicate of how we would specify installing the SSRS in a commercial setting. The 40 sqm trial will allow us to monitor key performance characteristics of the system such as moisture % content, turfgrass root depth, turfgrass colour, disease resistance, water, and nutrient use. The system is fully ‘sealed’ and water harvesting within the drainage system can be manipulated by using the shut-off valve at the outlet point of the drainage system. We shall also be incorporating the use of wireless (spiio) moisture meter technology into this trial as a New Zealand first.
